I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at MAERSK in Mar 2024
Interview
1) Recruiter Screen
2) 1 hour interview with peer level team member
3) 1 hour interview with hiring manager
I spoke with a total of 4 different recruiters. The 4th and final recruiter I spoke with called to discuss offer, including salary requirements. I had previously discussed this with the first recruiter. The 4th recruiter made it sound like the range I was asking for was going to be an issue. This was surprising given I was up front about my desired range before the process began. The first recruiter informed me that there was flexibility in the title leveling, and that the lower end of my range was possible. The 4th recruiter told me to expect them to "go dark" until the end of the week, and that I would hear back from them. I never heard anything, effectively ghosted. I have since learned that this is not unusual at Maersk. I'm actually seeing this ghosting happen all over the place in this current "employer's market." These companies would do well to remember that markets are cyclical, people talk, reputation and relationships matter. At least communicate with people.
