Found out the position online on their website and sent a CV and cover letter. Was then sent an email later on about when the interview was going to take place. I came in early and waited outside (the place was locked while they prepared everything) with other people who were to be in the interview. There was roughly 30 people, which is intimidating since you all are trying to get the position.
When the doors were opened, the left a place to put all your belonging and then all huddled around an area where they told us our groups and gave us stickers to write our names down. The groups were split and there were 4 tables. I don't remember them all clearly however, the first table had perfume, the second had play-dough, third had a basket with items in and the last had hand products.
For the first table, I was teamed up with the person next to me and we both had to smell the product and tell everyone in the group what it reminded them of. You had roughly 3-5 minutes to discuss with them what you were going to say. I said that the scent reminded me of someone older and how it inspired me to be like them.
Second table task was to make an animal out of play dough, which was based off you. Of course they didn't care about skill, it was based on what you said. This is one of the most hardest for me since I don't really know much about animals and ended up saying penguins. Pretty dumb idea. Say dog or something since you can talk about their loyalty and how they are hard working and can learn new things.
The third table had a bunch of random objects that you couldn't see since it was under a blanket. You had to rummage in and grab the object and try to sell it. Avoid talking while other people selling their products.
The last was you demonstrating the product to a customer, aka someone in your group. They give you a demonstration on how to do so and then you do it on the person next to you. If there is an uneven amount of people in your group, expect one of you to work on the person who works there.
I can't clearly remember how long it took, but it did take a long time. In the end, you get huddled back together and told that you will all receive your results in a couple of days. If you do, you will then have a on the day test where you work for them for a period of time.
However, I didn't pass the interview stage since I tripped up on a the majority of questions since they were too odd and the amount of people their was off putting.
Would I do this interview again? No. Made me wondered how on earth they would remember you out of the 30 people.
