I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Lush in Sep 2014
Interview
One of the supervisors rang me for a phone interview, which didn't last long and included pretty standard questions. I was then invited in for a group interview the following week and told to bring an item that best describes me. At the interview, there were around 10 other people applying for the same position and 2 interviewers. We all had to briefly introduce ourselves to the whole group and explain why we chose our item. We were then allocated into pairs, where we were given a Lush product which we had to read up on to present to the rest of the group. After that, we were asked to write our availability down and then we can leave. I got a phone call 2 days later to be invited in for a trial shift. The trial shift lasted for an hour on the shop floor.
A group interview with around 10 other candidates for a seasonal role, with 4 management staff running role play type tasks alongside a full introduction to the brand, ethos and values. Sections focused more on creating fun and memorable interactions and building rapport- it felt fun and expressive, and reflective of the brands inclusive and welcoming ethos.
(And we all got a goody bag at the end!)
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
I was asked to come prepared to speak for a few minutes on a subject I felt passionately about. For this task, we were partnered with 1 other candidate and then had to describe to the group the topic our partner discussed.
had to do a two hour trial shift and was assessed based on what happened during the shift and how customers where approached, was told to demo everything such as bath bombs and massage bars
First we had a group interview, we played some games and interact with each other, also have some small talk. And the staff would select some to have in-person interview to and ask some questions. Then they will give youa trial shift to see how you welcome the customers and decide whether you are successful.
