I applied online. I interviewed at Lush (Sídney) in May 2018
Interview
Arrived at the interview (outside the shop) with around 18-20 other people.
Once we were inside, we were split into groups to perform different activities. These activities included talking about and demonstrating a bath bomb, performing a forearm massage with lotion (and talking about the product) etc. Personally, I think the interview was structured perfectly for its intended purpose - For the managers to get to know your personality and see how confident you are. It was a positive experience, however I found the activities a little difficult as more of an introverted personality.
It was a group interview, very unconventional, hands-on, and activity-based, teamwork. They expect you to know their company values and ethics, which will carry over to your role. It was very relaxed and they made me feel very comfortable and heard.
I applied online. I interviewed at Lush (Londres, Inglaterra)
Interview
Was offered an interview and it was fairly casual - in the cafe, and it only lasted around 45 minutes. Pretty much immediately after I was offered a trial shift, and I went and it was kind of horrible because we didn’t know anything about the products, and it also wasn’t very busy so it felt like we were competing with each other to get a customer’s attention, only to not even be able to give them proper information and just have to guess. It was a bit embarrassing and we didn’t get paid either, but we got a free shower gel. I found out I got the job on the way home from the trial shift.
I applied in-person. I interviewed at Lush (Cardiff, Gales)
Interview
Onboarding session and then a practice shift which involved you sitting customers down and demonstrating products on them. Lasts around an hour, and it’s done in groups of trial shifts.
