I applied online. I interviewed at Lush (Londres, Inglaterra)
Interview
Applied for a position at the Oxford Street store online with a cover letter explaining my favourite products and my love for Lush as a brand, especially their ethics. This was my main focus as I had no prior experience (would have been my first job). They are looking for your character, confidence and ease with new people and large groups. I would say that it's quite pressurised if you don't prepare for a 50+ crowd and minimal positions. Otherwise they provided easy, hands on tasks that you would normally demonstrate in Lush - massage bars, bath bomb demos in groups and describing scents using vivid metaphors etc. People applying with me said it often takes a few interviews to know what to say and do so fingers crossed for my next one in Wimbledon.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Why is feedback important? Give a time when you have been given feedback and how it helped you.
A group interview with around 10 other candidates for a seasonal role, with 4 management staff running role play type tasks alongside a full introduction to the brand, ethos and values. Sections focused more on creating fun and memorable interactions and building rapport- it felt fun and expressive, and reflective of the brands inclusive and welcoming ethos.
(And we all got a goody bag at the end!)
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
I was asked to come prepared to speak for a few minutes on a subject I felt passionately about. For this task, we were partnered with 1 other candidate and then had to describe to the group the topic our partner discussed.
had to do a two hour trial shift and was assessed based on what happened during the shift and how customers where approached, was told to demo everything such as bath bombs and massage bars
First we had a group interview, we played some games and interact with each other, also have some small talk. And the staff would select some to have in-person interview to and ask some questions. Then they will give youa trial shift to see how you welcome the customers and decide whether you are successful.
