I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Lowe's Home Improvement (Rockledge, FL) in Mar 2012
Interview
The Interview was very basic and a little rushed. I was hired during the busy season. They ask the typical "tell me about a time when you..." questions that almost every company uses now. I had answered the exact same questions for at least three other companies. They had me read a description of the job and sign off saying that I was confident in my ability to perform it. Two people split the interveiw and each asks you half of the questions, they will be in the room on at a time though. One is the HR person and the other is a manager, usually the one you would report to if they hired you.
I applied in-person. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Lowe's Home Improvement (Charlotte, NC) in Feb 2008
Interview
Terrible, they want to interview a retired contractor and ask them if they can sell windows, roofs, and fences. The person conducting the interview was a graduate from Herzing College with a degree in computers and no experience in contracting??????

Question 1
I was aked if I minded assisting in store operations when the store was short staffed. Have you ever been to a Lowes and thought it was properly staffed? I wanted to sell as they call them "exterior products" and make money. Not tell some lady which paint would look nice on the prefab shelving made in China she was buying 2 rows over.
I applied online. The process took 6 days. I interviewed at Lowe's Home Improvement (Virginia Beach, VA) in Sep 2012
Interview
I was contacted by the Area HR Manager and asked to come to the store to take an HR assessment. The assessment consisted of 29 questions evaluating my knowledge of HR law and statutes and behavioral analysis of what I'd do in certain situations. After the assessment the store's HR Manager gave me a copy of the job description and a brief overview of the position.
Later that afternoon I received another call from the Area HR Manager requesting to schedule an interview. Because I applied for the same position in two stores, I was given a panel interview. The interview was conducted in one of the stores I'd applied. The panel consisted of the Area HRM and one store manager (both on the phone) and the store manager (in person).
