I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Lowe's Home Improvement in Feb 2013
Interview
Applied for an ASM position on line and was called back the following week for an interview. Interview went well with typical behavioral questions. Met with the HR and Store Manager with 8 questions being asked. Near the end of the interview, I was informed that there was another ASM position that they were looking to fill and that I would be considered for that one. The position was posted and I re-applied. I had called the store back at the end of the application deadline and found out that I was one of three being considered for the position. I was called back and offered the position but it was $20K below what I was currently making (which was included in my application). I offered the Store Manager additiional information about my background and experience that justified my current salary and he said he would see what he could do with HR. Never heard back from him and found out three weeks later that my application was no longer being considered by reviewing my application status. No phone call or email...very unprofessional experience.

Interview
Very pro-longed process, 4 months from initial phone interview until contract signed. Later realized this was mostly due to the corporate wide overbooking of meetings allowing for little time for mangers and above to find an equally good day for the interviews. Process included 2 phone interviews, and then a day of interviews with hiring manager, their boss, peers, and potential key employees. The contract negotiation was fairly standard and painless. However, the company was in serious need of an effective On-boarding process. Hopefully that has changed as they too realized it and were taking steps to rectify it before I left as a "here's your desk, see you at our meeting at the end of the week" is a bit lacking.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
No difficult questions, but a surprisingly frank question from a peer asking if I knew what I was getting myself into.
I applied online. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at Lowe's Home Improvement (Hillsborough, NJ)
Interview
Very comfortable setting, it was a one on one interview with the Operations Manager. They had my application in hand and asked questions about myself based on the information that was on there. From there we had a quick discussion on what was going to happen next, which was a series of questions which were focused on customer service, and a few "How did you...." and "Have you ever...." type questions to which he jotted down notes on the questionnaire.

Question 1
One that most people may find difficult is the "Name a time in your life or recall a certain situation that you had difficulty with a co-worker/customer/person/etc and what did you do or how did you handle the situation."
