I applied online. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Lowe's Home Improvement (Lake Charles, LA) in Jan 2011
Interview
The hiring process was fairly easy. They contacted me fairly quickly from when I submitted my application and had in human resources by next morning. The whole thing consisted of two interviews. One with a human resources staffer who goes over the job and requirements and then asks a few behavioral questions mostly dealing with how you handle mistakes and dealing with customers. The second interview is with a high ranking manager type who is their to feel you out and also asks behavioral questions which also mostly deal with mistakes, handling specific customer situations, and why you would fit in. They were both the easy-going types and have a great sense of humor.

Question 1
Tell me about a time you gave a customer the wrong information. How did you correct it?
I interviewed at Lowe's Home Improvement (Zephyrhills, FL)
Interview
Rather easy interview process. There were only a handful of questions that were pretty standard for a retail position. When the interview was scheduled, I was told it was one person, but ended up being another person conducting the interview, which wasn't a big deal, but when you go in to the place it's nice to ask for the correct person.

Question 1
When was a time that you've gone above and beyond for a customer?
It was Easy and I was able to get the job done. It was a good experience and I had a great time. Questions asked were about my experience with home improvement.
Pretty easy interview. Basic questions about work history. What experience you have pertaining to the role. A few scenario questions about customer interaction and teamwork. Pretty much show confidence you can handle the job.
