I applied online. I interviewed at Leonardo (Yeovil, England) in Feb 2017
Interview
I won't go into too much detail about the exercises in the assessment centre as they were very keen for us to not discuss what happened with eachother, but it's all fairly standard: a group exercise, a couple of brief individual exercises, and an interview consisting of you presenting your dissertation followed by a formal interview. The interview was mostly HR led so not too much about the specifics of engineering, but it is conducted by both a HR member of staff as well as an engineering member of staff so it helps to swat up a little bit before hand.
Overall a good experience though, nothing too tricky, nothing boring, and the Leonardo staff were at pains to make us feel comfortable and settle any nerves. Nothing was designed to catch you out.
I applied through other source. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Leonardo in May 2017
Interview
The job was in Edinburgh and I was not so I received a phone interview before I was invited up for a face to face interview. The process was simple and straightforward but the connection was a bit poor. In the end the manager interviewing me phone using his mobile. Good interview and they sold the company really well, difficult over the phone especially with three people the other side but just took a bit of getting used to. If circumstances were different, would have been very happy to have that position.

Question 1
To expand on my current position and how that could apply to the job.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at Leonardo (Luton, East of England, England) in Mar 2017
Interview
Three weeks between being notified an interview was granted and the actual interview taking place was a pretty long wait. Questions for interview preparation not answered - I thought perhaps the recruiter was to blame, but having got some very helpful info the evening before the interview day, realised it was Leonardo people and not the recruiter. I did not even know whether I would be allowed to take my laptop with me.
The interview itself was fine, though too long was spent over my history, so left no time to explore the job I might have been doing. Followed by a presentation, also fine and all the people I met on the day were friendly and warm.
I emailed one interviewer to personally thank them for their time and received no response at all. It was three weeks before I had any feedback (not even being notified I hadn't got the job - though by that time I had seen it re-advertised!). When the feedback referred to the presentation as an 'exam question', combined with the lack of information, I feel I have had a luck escape!
Not a good candidate experience - I just hope it's very different once you're employed there.
