Long wait for outcome, slow moving, two part process

Had 2 face to face interviews with both the hiring manager and a panel of interviewers. Overall, up to that point, I thought the process went well. They called my references right before Thanksgiving. A month later, right before Christmas, I received an email saying they had decided to fill the position "another way." Not a class act. I would have appreciated a phone call.
