I applied in-person. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Kroger
Interview
The interview process is fairly straight forward. They call you in and you talk with the HR rep and Store Manager. With initial interview, they gave me the standard questions, desired hours, experience, goals in life. Then went ahead and told me I'm hired and I did a cotton swab on the spot for drug testing. There is no one person to interview. Whichever store you apply to, that Store manager and HR rep do the interviews and hiring. Most of the interview is based off the green light/red light scorecard from the test given during the online application process.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Their questions are relatively straight forward. The hardest ones they will ask are the typical "how did you respond.." to some scenario. With a decent turnover rate they don't tend to ask too many difficult questions.
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Kroger (Dalton, GA) in Jul 2012
Interview
Applied online a month ago and they called out of the blue. I was asked if I was planning on going back to college in the fall and that they would check with so and so to see if they could find a place for me. They called back a few hours later and told me to come in for an interview in a few days. I appreciated the 72 hour notice because it will let me get my medication info to them before the saliva test.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Interview tends to be rushed. I don't expect them to ask nonessential questions.
The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Kroger (South Bend, IN) in Dec 2008
Interview
There wasn't much of an interview. I came in, they gave me a drug test, and then put me on the schedule as soon as the results came in. They didn't ask me anything, they just told me what I was going to be doing. It was kind of a joke.
