I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Kroger
Interview
The process took about two weeks. I applied and was called a week later to set up my interview. After the interview, I came back a few days later to fill out paperwork and such. The computer training took a few hours to complete, and it didn't leave me feeling prepared enough for the job because not a lot of ground was covered. I came in on my second day of training only to be thrown out on the floor unexpectedly. The whole thing was chaotic as the hiring manager was on vacation and no one else seemed to know what we were supposed to be doing. After an hour and a half I was sent on break, and was told I could leave three hours from then. So, after getting my ride situation planned out (because everything I was initially told was wrong) I went back to ringing customers up. It was a little difficult, especially when the guy training you gets a kick out of putting you down and making you feel stupid, instead of helping you out like he's supposed to. I understand being unhappy to have to train someone, but at least be professional about it. Anyways, two hours later the manager came back and told me to go ahead and close my register and clock out because I could go home, which threw me off because she had told me I'd be there an hour longer, and once again I was scrambling to make plans because they had no idea what they were doing. The next day I was unable to work my last training shift because I had to go to the hospital, and when I called my hiring manager to apologize and set up another shift on another day, she was very rude about it. Needless to say I turned down the job after this because it wasn't an environment I wanted to work in.
