I applied in-person. The process took 6 days. I interviewed at Kroger (Richmond, VA) in Jul 2011
Interview
Interview was for Human Resources Generalist position but they call it Administrative Assistant in order to keep the cost exceptions low. This job also includes recruiting and payroll. You are responsible for anywhere between 80-150 employees.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Very few questions outside of the electronic personality test everyone is required to take prior to the interview. Very long multiple choice question where the receiver of the test can see if you are red, yellow or green. A green means you are a good employee - passive, follows instructions. Yellow means you are a good candidate for management but not employee material and red can be good or bad depending on the reviewer. Red might be a good manager but never a good employee.
The interview itself was standard, I was asked about previous employment and why I wanted to work for Kroger.
Just a few questions about previous work experience. Most questions are generic interview questions. Alot about what I had done prevuiosly with the company and how I worked with manegement to solve problems.

Interview
It was very laid back. I felt very comfortable in the interview and was offered the job the next day. It came down to me and one other candidate, but I got it based on my experience with Kronos. I had to take my drug test on the spot and fill out my paperwork.
