I had an extremely disappointing experience with Klarna’s interview process. It was by far one of the worst I’ve encountered, leaving me frustrated and feeling like my time was completely wasted.
1. Lengthy and Disorganized Process
The entire process stretched over four months, from August to November, and included four rounds:
A coding round
A system design exercise
A behavioral interview
A team fit meeting
Despite dedicating significant time and effort to each round, the final outcome was communicated in an unprofessional manner.
2. Unprofessional Closure
After months of interviews and follow-ups, I was informed via a WhatsApp call that the position had been filled. There was no detailed feedback, no closure, and no sense of professionalism. The interviewer merely mentioned that they’d contact me if a position became available in the future—a hollow reassurance.
3. Lack of Communication
In December, I noticed that the same position had reopened. I reached out to the recruiter multiple times, hoping to follow up and express my continued interest. Unfortunately, I received no response. The lack of basic courtesy to reply to a candidate who had invested months in their process was appalling.
4. Final Thoughts
Klarna’s interview process not only wasted months of my time but also left a sour impression of the company. The lack of respect for candidates and poor communication reflects poorly on their hiring practices. It’s disheartening to see such a renowned company handle candidates so poorly.
If you’re considering applying to Klarna, be prepared for a lengthy, frustrating process with no guarantee of professionalism or feedback. My experience with them has been nothing short of pathetic, and I wouldn’t recommend them to anyone.
