Terrible. The case study is essentially unpaid consulting. I will never consider interviewing for this company again.
They make you do a logic test and refuse to share your score with you, but that’s only a mild inconvenience. The real problem is the case study. To preface, I have done many case studies for job interviews. Firstly, they tell you it only should take a couple hours but if you want to do a good job it takes 6+ hours minimum. The case study was a QBR data analysis and presentation deck that can be directly repurposed by the company if they simply replace the “sample” data with real customer data. I shared a protected version of my Excel workbook with the recruiter so the team could see my work and tabs but also make sure my work couldn’t be copy & pasted. She specifically insisted that I unprotect the cells so that the team could see my formulas which I defined in my appendix slides. In order to evaluate my work, the slides, Excel file, and data cleaning and methodology explanation slides I had created should have been more than enough. I also offered to the recruiter multiple times to answer any specific questions the team may have in a meeting. They did not want to take me up on that offer. I withdrew from the process at that point.
A legitimate case study that doesn’t brain pick applicants would involve using data unrelated to the company, and if it is directly related to the regular work of the role, they would allow you to protect your IP to a reasonable extent.
I was very disappointed in the whole situation and it left a terrible taste in my mouth. There is a reason Klarna has so many negative interview reviews on here. Don’t waste your time.
