The interview process is lengthy, composed of several steps. In between, you might wait from a few days up to weeks of wait to the next one. It's slow paced, and repetitive as you will see it detailed below.
The first one is composed of a two-step online challenge.
After that, I got to the next phase, composed with a 2.5hours test involving a technical interview followed by a cultural one.
The technical one consists of a pair programming session followed by an high level architectural design. And the cultural one is based on you demonstrating your attitude and demonstrate your positive impact in previous companies.
The next step is a logical test based in patterns and logic. It's fairly easy however you are required to score at least 16 out of 18 questions, which contributed on making me a bit nervous, although even still it was not that big deal.
Finally, I've made to the final interview, which included a technical, a cultural and a design architectural session. In total it is expected to take half a day.
Wow! So many steps..
Finally, I got an offer by Klarna, in which was totally below my expectations, since it's net value was around 30% lower than what I currently make in my US remote job.
Total bummer.
Note to mention: the HR person who was following me closely as long as the step goes explained things very well and clear out in advance possible questions that you might have along the process.
However he makes a lot of pressure and builds an pompous image about the company, about how everyone really loves it and how everyone absolutely rocks there more than any other company (and even better than Google according to him).
But when it came to salary negotiation, they were not open to negotiate it almost at all. Only bumped up like 1% from original one, which is hilarious.
Overall, it was positive in sense of getting to meet many engineers and talk about many different subject, but it was a big bummer and frustrating when it came to salary negotiation.
Taking into consideration the size of the company, the multi-level steps of the process and how the HR recruiter talks about the company.
I REALLY expected something totally different.
