The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Kennedys (New York, NY)
Interview
Initially communication was great to go into the process. The in-house recruiter are Kennedy's was reassuring and advised that the interview is typically informal as they don't like the grill people.
The interview process consisted of 1. The interview and 2. A case study (I was not informed initially this would be a stage).
The interview was far from informal and questions felt like they were asked in quick succession. Targets did seem high in comparison to most firms I know of including my current. Completed the interview and received excellent feedback.
On to the case study which I found straight forward on a typical case and commenting on legislation. Again received excellent feedback and answered exactly as they wanted.
Around a week later the recruiter called to advise that they had great feedback for me and an offer was to be made but needed to through approval before it was made. This is where it fell apart as I chased a few times for an update over a period of 3 weeks and the recruiter each time did not have an update. Finally on the final attempt I reached out and was informed that they had chosen to go with someone else. This was disappointing as feedback was brilliant but asked for reasons and anything I could improve on. The recruiter appears unsure as to what had happened and advised he would chase this up and let me know. Never heard from him again.
Overall a pretty poor experience but fortunately offered a role with a well reviewed firm.
I applied through other source. I interviewed at Kennedys (Sídney)
Interview
2 x rounds of interviews. The first round felt more formal and like the questions were more based on aptitude and what I was looking for. The second round felt more like a vibe check. The interviews were casual enough and very friendly.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Experience at current firm, how I approached a file, what made me engaged at work, what I benefited from when working in a team, what I was looking for in a firm and supervisor
It was very a friendly and conversational interview and the partners seem very genuine. The questions were more about my experience than anything behavioural. All in all a good experience.
I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Kennedys
Interview
The interview consisted of mostly skills and behavioral based questions. Straight forward questions and very casual environment. Make sure you do your research on the company prior to the interview.
