I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at John Lewis & Partners (Londres, Inglaterra) in Aug 2024
Interview
I was shortlisted and sent a technical test to do. This had a 3 hour time limit. The test was to basically create a mock online store to a design provided to you. This was fairly easy. I spent about 4 hours on the test in total.. and I quite enjoyed doing it.
I got feedback a couple of days later informing me that I had been rejected due to my solution not being absolutely perfect. By that I mean, not adding extra types (types were already provided), not making every element fully accessible, having colours slightly off from the designs... I mean, I get it, but I also think it's a bit unrealistic to ask for that amount of perfection in a 3 hour test.
They did praise the good things about my test.. which seemed to outweigh the negatives but I guess being nitpicky is expected in the current job climate.
Overall, wasn't a bad experience, and they provided decent feedback, just didn't agree with the expectations of a short task. In hindsight, JLP probably wouldn't have been a good fit for me anyway. It is what it is.
