I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at John Lewis & Partners (Londres, Inglaterra) in Oct 2012
Interview
I applied as a temporary Christmas selling assistant and it took approximately one month for them to review my application and invite me to a group assessment. Two days after the assessment I was emailed with a job offer. Although the department I was in initially didn't have the budget to keep me on permanently, they seem to have put me on a list of some sort because 10 days later I was asked if I'd like to join a different department that had vacancies, and I've been there since.

Question 1
I have a feeling John Lewis changes their group assessments every year, because newbies seem to have had a tougher time than I did. There was no one-on-one in mine, it was a bunch of activities given to us and we had to do it within our group. My general feeling was that they look at how well you work within a team, and how confident (but not overbearing) you are. They like a healthy balance.
