Applied to a Director position. Started with call with hiring manager (approximately a month after applying with referral), then had a call with another Sr. Director who openly admitted he had not read my resume, and yawned during the entire interview. This was followed by panel where I gave a presentation to the team. This is an unusual process for these types of roles, and definitely a lot of effort. Heard back quickly that they liked me a lot, but would only offer me an Associate Director role (which I've already been for 2 years) since I did not have R&D experience. This was despite earlier assurances that this was not a deal breaker, and the (male) Sr. Director I interviewed with (I am female) had come in as a director in the group with far less pharma/R&D experience . Honestly, I would be very hesitant to interview with them ever again.
