Interview
Uploaded CV onto the Jacobs recruitment portal and was phoned by a manger in regard to attending an interview. Skype interview from the office in my city after a few days.
25 mins to do a maths question which was using a given formula to calculate flow in a pipe with given dimensions.
15 mins to complete an essay styled question where I had to answer what the economic and health benefits of a recent civil eng project.
Line manager and a graduate interviewed me with standard competency based questions (around 9)-related it to part time jobs and site experience. Give yourself time to think about your answer before speaking, be friendly, confident and don't hesitate to ask questions to both the manager and graduate about opportunities.
Jacobs is a massive player in the engineering world, brains aren't everything so do not worry too much about the technical questions. Working with clients is a significant part of the role so show that you can work with a variety of people and are open minded to take up valuable opportunities in the company!
