The interviewer was in an open office with multiple people speaking, which made it extremely hard to understand.
On the first half of the interview, I was asked basic android questions
On the second half, we moved to a coding exercise on Android Studio to load data from an api. However, I couldn't load data from the api since I needed an api key and the interviewer wouldn't give me one. I then tried to set up the android project by setting up retrofit and the interviewer did not allow me to reference the internet or documentation. It's baffling how you're supposed to memorize how to set up retrofit rather than demonstrate actual software engineering skills
