I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at International House in Feb 2024
Interview
I interviewed for a position at IH in Reggio Calabria. Had two interviews in February. Interviews themselves were fine and not too difficult. I was told after the second interview I'd know the outcome after a month. A month later I still hadn't heard back to I chased this up. I recieved a reply that although they'd been very impressed with my interviews, they didn't know if they would be able to offer me a position as they needed someone experienced so they needed more time to decide. Another month later, after having still not had an answer I chased this up a second time and was told that even though they really liked me, they weren't going to be able to offer a position to a newly qualified teacher so they wouldn't be taking my application further. However, they did ask if they could contact me again nearer the start of the academic year if a position for a newly qualified teacher opened up. I declined as I'd already waited two months as this point, and had to chase them twice. It was incredibly frustrating as they knew that I'd only just finished my CELTA when they interviewed me. I didn't lie on my CV so to allow me to interview twice and then wait so long after interview for something they were aware of before the first interview makes no sense to me. I invested a lot of time and energy to their interview process and they completely messed me around and played with my emotions. There was no mention on their job advert of not wanting a newly qualified teacher. Incredibly unprofessional.
I applied online. I interviewed at International House (Florence, KY) in Jan 2019
Interview
It was stressful since this would be my first ESL teaching position. I studied for hours to prepare. I felt intimidated by the woman who interviewed me. Hoping it will work out for the best.
I applied through college or university. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at International House (Milán) in Apr 2014
Interview
I completed my CELTA with the same school but at the time I graduated there weren't available positions. Later that year, I received an email in which we were invited to apply for a job. I was then invited for an interview with the DOS. It went really well, it was mostly on my experience and motivation as a teacher. I was offered a position via email a few days later.
