I applied on Career Builder and was contacted by a corporate recruiter who asked a few questions about my experience and background. She then arranged an in office interview.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Easy interview, very conversational. They don't ask any standard interviewing questions. I've had a couple years of experience and they didn't seem interested in hearing about it. I think they prefer to hire employees fresh out of college.
I applied online. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Insight Global (Bellevue, WA) in Jan 2013
Interview
Never been to an interview where experience is detrimental. This company only hires right out of college grads. That should probably raise a red flag right there. I was first contacted by a recruiter over the phone who was very friendly. She set up an in office interview. At the office, I first met with the sales manager. He was young. kind of rude, and looked upset to be there. He glanced over my resume and didn't ask me one question. The entire interview is set up so you ask them questions. We talked for about 45 minutes and the sales manager seemed much more interested in talking about football then the position. Every time I began to talk about my experience his interest would fade. Finally, I asked if he had any questions for me. He said no and quickly left the room.
I then was set up to speak with an Account Manager, who was very honest about the position. He said that while you can make good money if you work hard enough, the job takes up a majority of your life and there are much more lows then highs. He said his personal life has taken a major hit from the job. Never got such honest advice from an interview. After the interview, I got a rejection e-mail the next day, and I can live with that.
