I applied through college or university. I interviewed at Insight Global (Baltimore, MD)
Interview
It is very conversational and laid back. They want to see that you can carry a conversation and be able to connect with a client. It is all about client interfacing and relating to people.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Insight Global (Boston, MA) in Feb 2017
Interview
I was contacted by a recruiter via LinkedIn, who thought I might be a good fit for the company. We had a brief phone interview a few days later, at the end of which she set up an in-person interview at the Boston office. I met with one in-person recruiter and three account managers, who were all really lovely, but who asked the same question: Why sales? I had already planned my answer, considering the fact that I don't have sales experience and my resume suggests a career path very different from sales, but in the end, there were no hard-hitting questions in any of the four individual interviews, which I found interesting and ultimately disappointing. I sent a follow-up thank you email to each interviewer, and never heard back from any of them. I also followed up with the initial recruiter, who had asked that I call her right after the interview to debrief and discuss next steps, but even with a phone call afterward, and two LinkedIn messages sent to her in the two weeks following, heard nothing. Finally, I received a (very generic) email from the recruiter today, thanking me for my time but suggesting that the strong candidate pool was, in fact, too strong, and they couldn't offer me a position.
I applied through a staffing agency. I interviewed at Insight Global
Interview
Insight Global interviews you to make sure you're a good fit and describe the job that you will actually be applying for. It's not an actual interview, but think of it as the interview before your actual interview.
