Contacted by a recruiter on LinkedIn for an account manager position. Basic phone interview, then scheduled for an in-person interview in Raleigh office. On the day of the interview, the recruiter called me, literally told me what to say in response to specific questions ("if they ask you what you like to do on the weekend, don't tell them you enjoy watching netflix, be honest, tell them you like to go out and drink with your friends!" -- "if they ask you why you want a sales job, tell them you enjoy building relationships!"). This phone call was the first time she disclosed that it was a cold calling-type sales positions, this was not clear before.
When I went to the Raleigh office, there was no receptionist, just a phone. I rang the phone for my interviewer and waited. Another woman came in, told me that my interviewer was too busy and that she would interview me instead. Didn't ask me any typical interview questions, it was literally small talk for 30 minutes. The only question she asked was why I wanted to sales position -- good thing the recruiter prepped me for that (sarcasm). Other than that, it was really based on the chemistry you had with your interviewer.
Worst interview experience of my life.
