I applied through college or university. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Infosys (Jaipur, Rajasthan) in Dec 2010
Interview
The interview had 1 written round. it consists of basic English and math questions to test your aptitude skills.
After the written round one technical cum HR interview happens. since i am electrical engineer they asked about basic very minimal software questions like about c syntax and some basic digital electronic questions. Mostly the questions are asked from your interests, why infy, why Software job, what projects you did in btech etc.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
not much difficult question. Since it is a mass recruiting company they test your ability to articulate, and written test will measure your basic aptitude. Nonetheless i felt tensed till they announced the results. But still nothing to worry about. Just stay calm and cool and present yourself most efficiently. Just be clear why you are taking this job. That would suffice. Brush up your aptitude skills.
2 rounds of interview for Infosys first is coding round and then managerial round mostly and sometimes test is also there. Interview is not tough though but referral is important

Interview
Following the assessment test, got shortlisted for the interview phase. The session itself was very smooth; the interviewer created a supportive and comfortable environment right from the beginning. The conversation centered around my project, where I had the opportunity to detail its technical aspects, architectural choices, and the underlying motivation for building it.
Multiple rounds including face to face and aptitude depending on the role type and resume and project related questions were asked with focus on technical concepts including data structures and algorithms
