External recruiter reached out to me with the position. I said I was interested and he said he'd set up an interview. The recruiter tells me that the hiring manager still needs to figure out how he wants the interview process to go... but the first interview should occur late the next week. Two weeks later they finally set up the interview. The first interview was with an HR person and the hiring manager and was a pretty standard affair. The next day I was told they like me and would like to set up another interview and that it would require me to conduct a research project to present during the interview. The brief for the project was sent to me on a Friday night with the interview being the following Wednesday. The research project they wanted was a full day of work (they said they expect up to 7 hours of work) on a consulting project for them. I have no problem doing presentations for interviews but this is beyond the pale in terms of time commitment and subject matter. I relayed my concerns to the external recruiter who obviously tried to alleviate my concerns but at that point I was done and pulled out of the process.
