I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at IBM (Poughkeepsie, NY) in Mar 2026
Interview
My interview experience at IBM was overall smooth and well-structured. The initial online assessment was relatively straightforward, falling in the easy to medium difficulty range and focusing on core problem-solving skills. During the 1:1 interview, the discussion was very in-depth, with the interviewer going through each experience on my resume in detail. This allowed me to elaborate on my past work, explain my thought process, and highlight my contributions more thoroughly. The conversation felt engaging and gave me a good opportunity to showcase both my technical and interpersonal skills.

Question 1
Questions about experiences on my resume. What did you do? Results? Etc.
A recruiter reached out to me about scheduling some time to speak. They just scheduled a time without even confirming my availability first. Thought it would be an initial phone screen, but was a technical interview with someone different than I was emailing. The lack of communication and information was disappointing
I first received an online language test. Then got invited for an offline coding round. It was a fairly average-level question with 7-8 test cases on the HackerRank platform. People who passed even 3-4 test cases got selected for the next round.
