I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Home Depot Canada (Toronto, ON) in Oct 2021
Interview
HR was horribly disorganized and non-transparent.
First phone screening - HR interviewer was late and needed to reschedule. During the actual interview, kids could be heard screaming in the background. HR claims to not know what the budgeted salary is for the position despite me clarifying that they had recently hired people into the same position. Pushed for a exact salary expectation and would not move forward without it.
2nd interview with team manager + HR - this was okay although went overtime.
3rd interview - 2 team members + manager - the final interview only was scheduled for 30mins. Felt rushed and impersonal. No passion from the team at all in selling the role or interest in me as the candidate (why even schedule a interview if not interested?)
4th HR follow up call - they apparently lost their notes from the first call and needed to reconfirm salary expectations and really tried to have me give a lower number than what I already stated. They also tried to find out my previous salary by framing it as a way to help me get the position.
Promsied to get back in a week and then proceeded to ghost me with no emails.
Disclaimer: I did not follow up at all since I had already accepted a much better position elsewhere.
The Hr reached out though a phone interview then went through with General questions + Case study. Interviewed with various teams. Decent difficulty. Well organized process. Overall good experiences during the process.
The interview was behavioural, held with the manager and an HR representative. They asked the standard behavioural questions with focus on finding out how you work and resolve team conflict.
