      Marketing Project Manager Interview

      Jul 5, 2013
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      Toronto, ON
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 days. I interviewed at Hays (Toronto, ON) in Jul 2013

      Interview

I applied to a job posted by Hays.ca on Linkedin. Since Hays is a recruiter, I assumed there would be a first meeting with "a recruiter" before "the client" was disclosed. I elected to have a phone meeting to avoid missing a day of transportation etc... During the phone interview, the interviewer told me that the job posting I viewed on Hays.ca was for another job and that the Linkedin posting was for a role at Hays ITSELF, rather than for another employer. Oddly, both job postings were identical and neither of them provided any indication of 'who' the employer was or if it was an internal posting. Since my role research was based on the Hays.ca version and not the Linkedin version, I entered the interview 'allegedly' without proper research, despite the two job postings being identical. The identity of the employer would still have been unknown. Perhaps their was a communication error?
