Habitat for Humanity interview questions

They interviewed me over the phone, which I felt went very well. They told me at the end of the phone interview, that I was one of the top candidates, due to my experience in the field, and community. I was also told the next step would be an in person interview with the executive director and some board members. I never heard back from them, despite placing several calls. Because they were a community partner of the non-profit where I worked at the time, I heard who that they hired internally - from the person they hired. To me, it felt extremely unprofessional to not give me the courtesy of a "we've decided to go a different direction" phone call - particularly considering they tabled at an event held by my then current employer that same month.

The store needed employees so the hiring process was quick and incredibly easy and friendly. I met with two people overall, one from HR and another was my store manager. They sat me in a room in the store I was working and the atmosphere was light and relaxing.
