A recruiter first did a screening via phone call then scheduled a technical interview where there were two technical problems to work through, one warm up exercise and a more important leetcode-style coding problem.
I applied online. The process took 9 months. I interviewed at Google (Mountain View, CA) in Aug 2023
Interview
It took forever at every step of the way, and they were not very communicative throughout the processor. The interviews themselves were enjoyable, relatively easy, and everyone was nice. I think they mainly look for how you deal with new problems, so simple memorization of common problems won't cut it.

Resume screening, online assessment, two online interviews. I think it differs by location/country, but I found the OA to be easy (LC easy) and interviews to be standard level (LC med)
