I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Google (Ann Arbor, MI) in Oct 2009
Interview
The interview was pretty basic. It was for a customer service position. They asked why I want to work at Google, specially Ann Arbor location. They also asked how would I can a difficult customer and what company I thought had the best customer service
I applied through college or university. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Google in Feb 2009
Interview
I worked for AMEX for 5 years. The initial interview was a series of tests and then a one-on-one interview. Most other interviews I have been on with the company were panel interviews. One time I had a round robin interview. (I think that is what it is called.) If you are going for a basic customer service position, I would assume you would have a one-on-one interview. All other positions, expect a panel.
AMEX employee development emphasises the S.T.A.R. method of interviewing. Basically they want Situation, Action, Outcome (result).
Interviews are usually 4-5 questions.
