Did a phone call and recruiter hasn't gotten back to me yet. Asked the basic questions, day to day life, why google, who are you as a person, describe your role
I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Google (New York, NY) in Jul 2022
Interview
The original role I interviewed for didn't work out so I was referred by the recruiter to interview for the Account Strategist role.
The recruiter handling the Account Strategist role, unfortunately, was very unresponsive. She was very poor in communicating with me. The original recruiter put me in touch with the AS recruiter (cc'd on the email) and indicated this recruiter would love to chat with me about the AS role. Two weeks has passed and I have yet to speak with her after multiple follow-ups. The least the recruiter could do was to either let me know the role has been filled or not interested to speak.
Overall, I have interviewed with Google before but this is probably one of the most unpleasant experience.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at Google (Toronto, ON)
Interview
Neglectful hiring process. Recruiters spelt my name incorrectly multiple times and sent me unformatted email templates e.g., “Hello X”. Interviewers told me I was the perfect candidate however, after 5 weeks of radio silence I was not given an offer. I asked for feedback, HR had no feedback other than “it was a very competitive group”. Thankfully I had an offer at a direct competitor whose process has been way more respectful in terms of treating me as a person and respectful of my time. Google is a great company as we all know, but this process and attitude towards me was very disrespectful. After waiting 5 weeks I was hopeful I would get an offer given the review committee requires time, unfortunately it was terrible HR management and lack of communication. If you get the job, congrats but from what I hear, the internal environment is toxic and the company is smokes and mirrors.
