Had a first interview with HR which went amazing, she had most of the information regarding the role, asked very good and well prepared questions according to the job, and then decided to move forward with my application for the second phase. They sent me some materials to prepare for the interview, including their yellowbook with information about the company, which I read entirely.
The second phase was directly with the hiring manager and who would have been my superior. Not exaggerating this was the worse interview I have ever had in my life. It felt not prepared at all, he didn't even know if it was my first or second interview, and overall the person had a pendantic and condescending tone from almost minute one, with improvised passive-aggressive questions that seemed to solely have the purpose to catch me off guard.
To make it worse his connection was terrrible and kept disconnecting several times which of course increased my nervousness through the whole scene, and apparently his annoyance. Ironically he said we didn't have much time.
Some of the weird "technical questions" for the role I got asked:
- Do you have any flaws or are you perfect?
- If you have 100 orders and 1 hour to deliver them, how many couriers do you need? (No more information provided on where, transportation method, average time or anything, just asked me to make assumptions and give him a number)
- What would you do if you were rich?
- How much money would you invest in crypto?
- Guess without any tool what is the 15% of 70?
At the end I asked him several questions about the role which he boringly answered, one of them was of course if budgeting was part of the role, as he pushed a lot with random math questions, he said the role had nothing about budgeting or math... so my take is that he decided to leverage my intelligence randomly with questions that popped-up on his mind and were not tied at all to the role.
