The position was in Barcelona. They sent me a PDF to read, like a 77-page presentation about the company and its values. It was quite interesting, but it immediately felt like some BS was behind the fancy words. Also, in the PDF, they said they're looking for the best (yeah, everyone says that) and that they offer a very competitive rate. We had a video call. Not a word about my education or my field, what I'm passionate about. She just asked if I know Python, SQL, when can I start, and how much money I want. I asked about relocation package - they don't have it. Fine. We discussed the salary. I asked about the market rate for this position. She said that up to 2k EUR net is what the market offers for these positions, and that they are sticking to this rate. Interesting, how are they "fighting for the best minds" if they are not willing to pay above the market? The company thinks that they are Netflix or something :D? Okay, I asked how the testing process goes. Some people on Glassdoor complained it's like 6 weeks. She was like, well, we try to make it as quick as possible, but on average, it's 3 weeks: There's a conversation with the team, where they test your hard skills and your knowledge of the company, and how you fit the company's values, if you have the same worldview (lol?), then if it's okay, you do online coding tasks. If that's okay, you do a project. You present it. If that's okay, you get an offer. I was listening and thinking: and you want all this for 2k a month?? Idk, I'd be a little bit cautious with this company.
