I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Glencore (Londres, Inglaterra) in Jun 2023
Interview
Normal 1 hour in person interview, asked background knowledge of risk and what skills I had, about the futures market and other indicators such as the greeks: delta, theta, gamma, vega, rho. Wasn’t experienced enough for the role though otherwise a good interview
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
What is your knowledge in risk and where have you applied this before?
Reached out by Glencore's HR. First round HR interview, asked about the company basics and some fit questions. Second round is an in-person interview (two interviewers) at Glencore's London office.
I applied through college or university. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Glencore (Londres, Inglaterra) in Jan 2018
Interview
Initial stages include interviews with external hiring consultants from SmartGlobal (retired ex oil traders / business developers), and HR. Thereafter you would be invited for a in-person simulated assessment in front of their proprietary trading software where you would be asked to trade oil futures based on news feed e.g. bullish oil, long future; bearish, short futures. They would give you a 15-30min introductory lecture before testing.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
They asked the basic stuff like why do you want to join the company, how much you know about Glencore and its main business. Tell me more about yourself and why do you think the grad prog would benefit your career. Where do you see yourself in 3-5 years. Nice interviewers who would prefer honest answers than the cliche lines.
