      Help Desk Associate Interview

      Jun 18, 2014
      Anonymous employee
      Accepted offer

      Application

I applied online. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Glassdoor

      Interview

One phone interview, a Google Chat video session and an in person meet at the office. The phone interview were surface level technical questions and a review of experience. The Google Chat session consisted of a light questionnaire of experience and why I wanted to work at GlassDoor as well as a demonstration of a few technical scenarios. The in person meet at the office was a tour of the building.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

During the technical demonstration I was allowed to refer to resources if I had trouble recalling a solution.

      Application

I interviewed at Glassdoor in Feb 2014

      Interview

I applied online through their website which was followed with an email to schedule a phone interview. They want an idea of who you are and your background experience. After the phone interview, I was asked to come to their office for an onsite interview. The interview consisted general questions as well as a test which was done on the computer. The test consisted of general troubleshooting which is fairly easy if you know the ins and outs of a working computer

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

I didn't think any of the questions were too difficult to answer. I guess I just wasn't the person they were looking for even though I felt I was qualified for the position

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Glassdoor (Sausalito, CA) in Feb 2014

      Interview

10 minute phone interview, then asked if I would come in a few days later for an additional interview. Two person IT team, looking for a third person.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Lots of networking-specific questions, but pretty fundamental in nature. Here are some: How would you determine if a computer was on the network? What utility would show you how long it takes from one internal computer to get to another internal computer? What is DHCP? What’s the difference between a hub and a switch? What is a default gateway? How would you change a local administrator password? What utility would you use to look at Windows logs? Describe the difference between RAM and a hard drive to a non-technical user. A user calls and says that Excel keeps freezing up. Explain how you would troubleshoot.
