I applied online. I interviewed at General Motors (GM) in Dec 2020
Interview
The first step of the process was a HireVue recorded interview and set of puzzle games.
The interview consisted of 5 behavioral questions that I needed to record video answers for. The questions were common behavioral interview questions ("Tell me about a time that you had to learn something quickly”, "Can you tell me about a difficult situation and how you overcame it?", "What is your greatest accomplishment?", etc.).
The puzzle games were a quasi-intelligence test that assessed the ability to do arithmetic, match patterns, and other basic cognitive activities. If you do fine with games on the app JobFlare, then you should do fine here.
The second step of the process, about a week later, was a coding test from HireVue. I had to solve two coding questions in a programming language of my choice with 30 minutes given for each. These were very simple questions that seemed to be aimed at testing basic programming competence. I wouldn’t even call them LeetCode Easy.
The third step of the process, about a month later, was a phone interview with an IT manager at the company. I only got asked a few simple questions like “What makes you want to work here?” and “Which city would you prefer to work in?”. The rest of the interview was the manager giving information about the position.
The last step of the process, a week later, was two one-hour Skype interviews each with a different senior IT person. They mainly asked ordinary behavioral questions like "Tell me about a time you worked with a difficult person". I was also asked about the projects on my resume and one technical question (“What is a REST API?”). There were no coding questions.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Write a program that can determine whether a number n is a power of 2
It was a very simple interview. There wasn't a coding portion after the coding challenge that they gave. The interview was held over skype with 2 people back to back and everything was behavioral

Question 1
Tell us about a time you worked hard to achieve something
I applied online. I interviewed at General Motors (GM) in Jan 2021
Interview
The process was very straightforward. After applying online, I received a HireVue with some questions (STAR). I then received a CodeVue the next day, with the problem being a simple string manipulation question (LeetCode easy). After this point, I didn't hear anything back for about a week, when a recruiter reached out to me by text (they attempted to call me but my phone was on silent) to let me know that I was moving forward in the process and my resume was being reviewed by a hiring manager. Then a week later, I received a link by email to schedule for the final round 2-hour Skype interview. I was placed to have the interview at the end of that week. The interviewers were very formal and the interview felt very conversational, and they made me feel very comfortable. We didn't even get to 45 min when they said they asked everything they wanted, and the interview ended there (I thought for sure this was a bad sign). Then exactly a week later, I received a phone call from one of the interviewers telling me that they were extending me an offer and congratulating me. Very smooth process and I loved that GM was going to the lengths of making calls to interviewers, made me feel like I was really being cared for.

Question 1
HireVue: Behavioral STAR format questions.
CodeVue: LeetCode easy string manipulation.
Final Skype Interview: More STAR format questions but more involved and intentional.
