Application
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at General Motors (GM) (Detroit, MI)
Interview
Call with recruiter. Then call with finance manager. Finally flown to Detroit to meet with 5 people over 5 hours plus lunch and a case study. Had about 20 people interviewing. Was told it would be fit and instead it was all about IRR. They are obsessed with IRR and not NPV, discount rates or other finance concepts. Interrogated me about dates on my resume, not content or what i did at my job. They really tried to pick and annoy you, maybe to see if you crack. Or maybe i just got all the nyc guys. Was told it would be a behavioral interview and that was not the case for me at least. Thought they'd be nicer considering they are a post-bankrupt company in a pre-bankruptcy city???
I got HR phone call first, just general questions. After that I got first round online interview, and also did a personality survey, but I didnt get the onsite interview.
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at General Motors (GM) in Oct 2020
Interview
2 back to back interviews. The first one is mix of technical and behavioural questions, the second is more about behavioural and your knowledge about the company. Technical questions are basic, and the behavioral questions are also standard. Overall experience is good.
I applied through college or university. I interviewed at General Motors (GM) (Evanston, IL)
Interview
I applied online through my school's career website and also through GM's own career portal. I was invited to a 30min in person interview at my schools career center. The interview felt really short. Three-four behavioral questions about leadership/group work and then two qualitative finance questions.
