I interviewed at General Dynamics Information Technology
Interview
The most confusing initial phone screen I've ever had. The screener asked the first question then immediately started talking over me. The next question I answered and received a long silence as a response. The same question was asked again, I answered and was told that wasn't the answer the screener was looking for. This lead to "what I am looking for is..." which was entirely different from the initial question.
After 20 minutes or so of the most aggravating phone screen I've ever had, to the point where I nearly hung up in the middle of it, I was told the salary range I listed for the position was too high. It was not. If anything it was too low for the job responsibilities and my location.
It felt like the process was just to interview someone/anyone as an HR requirement but they already had someone else they were going to hire.

Interview
I initially interviewed for another position in which I later didn’t qualify for due to my credit. It was pleasant. However, GDIT did not forget about me when a new and less stringent opportunity presented itself. Although it took a little bit for them to secure the contract, I knew since October of last year, this was where I wanted to be. My recruiter remained in touch with me throughout the process and we soon secured me a place with a fabulous team.
