I had a telephone interview. The interviewer conducted a Situation, Action, and Response. The technique was applied to individual, team, and managerial events. First, I opened with a brief description of the Situation and context of the story (who, what, where, when, how). Secondly, explaining the task I had to complete highlighting any specific challenges or constraint (eg. deadlines, costs, other issues).Thirdly, I described the behavior in completing the task. This approach created highlights of the desirable traits without needing to state them (initiative, intelligence, dedication, leadership, understanding, etc.). Finally, I closed with the result of my efforts stating that work performance increased 27% and each operator as awarded a certificate of appreciation along free pizza for the day.
