I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at General Atomics (New York, NY) in Jun 2019
Interview
Begins with a recruiter letting you know you've been selected for a phone screen. I've read on Glassdoor that the screen may be technical and behavioral, but mine was completely behavioral and about my experience. After that, if you've selected they'll set up an onsite.
The onsite consists of 3 rounds. 1st round with with HR. 2nd round is with a group of engineers and they may ask you to solve a questions. 3rd round is a C programming assignment who you do with an engineer at the company.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at General Atomics (Poway, CA) in Jan 2019
Interview
Was invited for an informal meet/greet with the systems engineering team by a friend who worked on a different team. The meet and greet went well, but a position was lent available at the time. Until a week later they called and opened a job req. the real interview started with HR, and I interviewed again with the team. Very informal since we’d basically already done it.
Only negative was that the original offer was rescinded after I verbally accepted. The new offer was 10% less. Ultimately I negotiated a small increase in salary and sign in bonus.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Explain systems integration process (only real technical question). Asked if I was familiar with company products, teams I lead in previous position.
Glad you had a positive interview process and welcome aboard! Sounds like the salary may have been different due to the different job req, but we’re glad everything worked out and we hope you enjoy your career here.
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at General Atomics (Palmdale, CA) in Aug 2016
Interview
Applied online, interview consisted of a phone interview and a panel of two mechanics. Personally, I considered this interview a waste of time, I specifically applied for "Non-Deployable Airframe & Powerplant mechanic", I was told that this did not exist at Gray Butte or anywhere else after I drove up for the interview. They pulled the old "Bait and Switch", and they have also pulled this with other co-workers at my current company. This company cannot be trusted, they don't have an ounce of credibility to their name, look at the other aerospace companies in the Southern California area before applying to General Atomics.
