Phone followed by in person with a panel and coding excercise overall pretty straight forward if you know what you are doing and have a good understanding of code analysis/ communication.
I applied online. I interviewed at General Atomics
Interview
There was a panel that asked behavioral questions and also very basic technical questions. The technical questions were based off my resume. The split between the two types of questions was probably 25/75. Notice was sent a few weeks after the interview.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at General Atomics (San Diego, CA) in Feb 2020
Interview
Recruiter was cool. The team was nice I answered technical questions fielded from 9 people for an hour then was taken on a tour. It went well. I did well. Confirmed the salary twice 70-80k
The last phone interview was with the director.
He asked me how old I was .
(Asked me what year I graduated from college).
I am/was a career changer so I am “older” . I was so surprised he asked .. I answered him honestly
Big mistake because they are Ageist . Because next time the recruiter talked to me he told me The offer dropped to 55k. True story! I had another offer so I declined.
I am still surprised how bold! Glad I dodged the bullet.
