I applied online. I interviewed at General Atomics in Apr 2017
Interview
The interview process was pretty simple. After submitting my application online I received a call from HR just asking basic questions. A few weeks later I received another call from HR with more questions and to schedule a phone interview with two directors from the department I would be working with. The panel interview was very casual and it discussed my resume and experience. Also asked about why I was interested in this internship in particular. Background check and 2 weeks later I got the offer. No in person interview.

Other Intern Interview Reviews for General Atomics
very basic interview process, the interviewer asked mainly about my work done in school and previous work experience. Talked a lot about hobbies and shared common interests with the interviewer.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at General Atomics (Poway, CA) in Apr 2025
Interview
The interview with the hiring manager was scheduled on very short notice, so I didn’t have much time to prepare. The conversation focused heavily on technical questions in aerodynamics and propulsion, rather than behavioral. Overall, it was a straightforward but challenging experience, good for someone with strong fundamentals, but worth knowing that it won’t be just casual background questions.
I applied through college or university. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at General Atomics (Rancho Bernardo, CA) in Feb 2025
Interview
Multiple rounds of interviews from difference scientists, covered technical skills and general personality assessment. Very nice people, they tried to make it as low stress as possible. Mine was just for an internship, so I can't speak to the difficulty of applying to an actual position
