I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Gap (Chicago, IL) in Jul 2012
Interview
I submitted my application and resume on line. I was then contacted by a manager of the store I applied to and asked to come in for a group interview and was given a choice of two times on the same day. There was a group of about 8 people and we all sat around a table and talked with the manager. She asked about our experience and our ideas about Gap. We were asked about how we would deal with certain situations or customers.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
At one point in the group interview we were asked to go on the sales floor and pick an outfit and then to sell it to the manager. In the group setting it was important to make yourself heard without being obnoxious.
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Gap (Brooklyn, NY) in Oct 2012
Interview
i had two different interviews at two different locations in New york. My first interview was for the Gap on 5th ave it was a one on one interview it was questions like why i want to work for the gap and scenarios and how i would solve them the interview went pretty good until i told her my availability she made a face and i didn't get a call back to say whether or not i got the job so i went home n I applied online again and a week later i got a call to come in the next day for a interview at another Gap store but this one located in brooklyn. When i went in it was a group interview it was about 7 of us and we were all asked the same questions. I guess she choose people based on who stood out the most with there answers it was easy but a little intimidating because people who worked at the gap was there on there break and was able to listen to what you said but it was really easy.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
there really wasn't any difficult questions. questions like what you would do if you and you co worker didn't like each other, or what would you do if you had a angry customer, also what would you do if you seen some one stealing from the company, describe your self, why the gap, what is one disadvantage you have, what is one rule you currently disagree with.
I applied online. I interviewed at Gap (Charlottesville, VA) in May 2012
Interview
They were desperate for people I guess because I filled out an application online and was called a few days later. The interview was basically her telling me about Gap and then she just asked me about myself (what I was studying, where I'm from, etc.) and how much I wanted to get paid (which I regret not saying a higher number since I knew I was going to get the job before it was even over). They're a pretty laid back store so even if I did have a real interview it would have been easy, basic questions. They are all about customer service and making the customer happy so just be really friendly and outgoing and mention something about the customer being important and you'll be golden.
