I applied in-person. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Gap (Boston, MA) in Apr 2010
Interview
I walked in one fine day and submitted my resume to the manager, she called me in for a group interview on the spot after going over my resume. Day of the "group interview", for some reason it turned out to be a 1:1 interview. After that I was called in for a second interview with another manager, which lasted less than 20 minutes. I was told I would be contacted after they had spoken with my references. I received a call by the end of the day and I had my orientation a couple of days later.

Describe an interaction with a customer, where you went above and beyond our means to cater to their needs.
I applied in-person. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Gap (Vacaville, CA) in May 2008
Interview
I had a pre-interview when I turned in my application to the manager in regards to my reason for applying to GAP, what my past experiences were, what could I bring to GAP as a potential employee...Then I had my one on one interview with one of the managers and they asked the basic.....what are your positive and negative qualities, situational questions.....nothing big. I was told right after the interview whether I was hired or not and I was immediately hired on the spot.

Question 1
How would you react when you spot a customer trying to steal an item from the store?
The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Gap (Stamford, CT) in May 2010
Interview
Received a call after filling out the online application. Interviewer did not start on time, had to wait around. Standard retail questions were asked--tell me about yourself, why do you want to work here and some offbeat ones like: "If a customer were to ask you for fashion advice, what would you dress them in?" Interviewer was pleasant but was not prepared for the interview--she ended up asking whatever she could think of at the moment. The people who worked there were young like most retail positions, so I would not bring up things like a college degree--I think they're looking for someone with tons of flexibility and someone who really doesn't mind working for minimum wage.
