I applied online. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at Gap (Cork) in Aug 2020
Interview
Applied online for full time seasonal sales associate position, they had 8h, 12h and 20h contracts advertised. Received a call a couple days later in the evening from the assistant manager asking if I could interview the following morning. I arrived early as the assistant manager said I would be given a tour of the shop before the interview. I was told to walk around and have a look while he got the manager. 5, 10, 15, 20 minutes went by and I still hadn't seen either manager surface so I approached another store attendant, Martin, who was super friendly and got the assistant manager for me. I was walked up to the office and then sat waiting for another 10 minutes while the manager finished emails. I feel like my interview was rushed, she barely wrote notes on what I was saying, and I know whoever was interviewing after me waited even longer because I overheard the phonecall up to the manager to inform her a second person had arrived. I appreciate that people get busy, but it gave me a pretty poor impression of the manager. I feel like the shop is her castle, and everyone else must run on her schedule. I was told I was a good fit for the store, and would hear back later that day. No response. She spent more time telling me about the volunteering they do outside of work rather than the actual job. I asked if it was possible to get more than 20 hours a week, I was told realistically that I would be on a 4h/ 5 days a week schedule. Starting wage is 10.60. The assistant manager seemed lovely but exhausted or checked out? Overall not a great impression of the shop atmosphere.

Interview
I got contacted a week after I applied over email with an invitation to a group interview a week from then. The interview was in the staff room of their store. They asked some typical interview questions, which me and the other candidate took turns answering. Then they asked us to create an outfit for a specific scenario using their apparel.

Interview
Had a fairly relaxed and casual interview. Sat down with the interviewer, they were very friendly and the interview only lasted about 10 minutes. Was offered a job right after the interview.
A short interview that consisted of around 10 questions. The interview aimed to see whether you could handle customer complaints and one's level of experiences in dealing with conflict. Also focused on pitching gift cards to those who would shop.
