I applied senior software engineer(C++) through an online job portal and was contacted to schedule an interview. Two interviewers were expected to join the session. One interviewer joined first (seems like this interviewer has very less experience) and, without asking for an introduction, immediately asked me to explain my current project, which I did.
While I was responding, the second interviewer joined the call. Without understanding my ongoing explanation or my project context, the second interviewer began asking questions. I attempted to explain my current project again; however, he seemed unable to grasp it at all. This was surprising, as my project is quite straightforward and is usually understood quickly in other interviews. It involves collecting data from one domain, processing it, and exporting the processed data to another endpoint where business users can view meaningful insights through dashboards or charts.
Despite not fully understanding my explanation, the second interviewer continued asking unclear and poorly framed questions. Within about 15 minutes, both interviewers abruptly ended the interview by saying they were done, strange, they did not even ask any programming or data structures or design pattern questions and ended the interview & asked if I had any questions.
The overall experience felt unplanned and disorganized. Random questions without clear intent or proper context were not what I expected from a company like GE Healthcare. I was particularly surprised by the lack of structure and preparation, and one interviewer appeared to have very limited interviewing experience.
Since there is no formal interview feedback portal available, I am sharing this experience here for awareness.
